Application teams had been running all the News and Media apps on an old technology stack with custom scripts for automation and quick fixes. Developers didn’t have visibility into their application and infrastructure. Existing tools are expensive and old. Dynamic scaling was not possible, lots of wasted resources and sudden spikes in traffic on the news site were causing outages. New application development requires manual provisioning and intervention making it less desirable.

True Up IT partnered with the company to build out a Kubernetes platform that allowed spinning up Kubernetes clusters on demand in AWS and OpenStack. We collaborated on creating pipelines and automation for developers to easily create new applications and run them as stateless web services on Kubernetes in a complete self-service way. In classic-True Up IT style, we treated developers as our real customers and helped them get onboarded to the container-based platform and helped re-architect and/or re-platform their app to be cloud-friendly. Solved several other problems associated with monitoring, alerting and living with containerized micro-services.
